Privacy Policy for Checkout Fields Pro

Checkout Fields Pro is operated by Alex Marcone under the Otheriver brand ("we", "our", or "us").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and store information when Shopify merchants install and use Checkout Fields Pro.
1. Information We Collect
When a merchant installs and uses Checkout Fields Pro, we may collect and process the following information:
- Shopify shop information, such as shop domain and Shopify shop ID
- app configuration data created by the merchant
- technical information required to operate the app, such as authentication, session, and app usage data
- order-related data only to the extent necessary to provide app functionality selected by the merchant
We do not intentionally collect more information than necessary to operate the app.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- provide and operate Checkout Fields Pro
- authenticate merchants securely
- store and apply checkout field configurations
- validate checkout data according to merchant-defined rules
- troubleshoot issues and provide support
- improve the app’s reliability, functionality, and usability
3. Data Storage
Checkout Fields Pro may store merchant configuration data and app-related operational data on infrastructure operated by us or our service providers.
Depending on merchant settings, checkout-related values may be stored by Shopify as:
- order attributes
- order metafields
- or both
Merchants are responsible for configuring how checkout data is collected and stored in their Shopify environment.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information.
We may share data only with trusted infrastructure and service providers strictly as required to operate the app, such as hosting, database, or technical platform providers.
We may also disclose information where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect our rights and the security of the app.
5. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
After a merchant uninstalls Checkout Fields Pro, we aim to delete app-related stored data within 30 days, unless a longer retention period is required by law or necessary for legitimate business or security purposes.
6. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process. However, no transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Merchant Responsibility
Merchants are responsible for ensuring that their use of Checkout Fields Pro complies with applicable privacy, consumer, and data protection laws, including any required notices or disclosures to customers.
8. International Transfers
If data is processed outside the merchant’s country, it may be transferred to and processed in other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
