Each customer sees only the data they need

With a static form, individuals and businesses can see tax, company, and delivery fields all at once.

Checkout Fields Pro reads the first answer and automatically separates the paths.

The result: fewer visible fields, cleaner data, and a checkout that is easier to understand.

Conditional logic

You do not simply add fields. You decide when they appear.

01IF Customer = Business → VAT number and tax data 02IF Province = Quebec → QST 03IF Invoice requested = Yes → Billing fields

Practical applications

Six ways to make checkout contextual.

Each rule starts from a precise context and activates only the fields, validations, or shipping options needed at that moment.

01 / VAT

VAT numbers only when relevant

On Shopify Plus, you can create a dedicated field, show it only when relevant, require it, and store it on the order. When Shopify already provides a native tax field for an eligible scenario, avoid duplicating it.

02 / TAX ID

Different tax IDs for every market

Configure the label, format, and requirement for each market, then activate the field for the right country, province, or customer type.

03 / B2B + B2C

Separate B2B and B2C paths

Ask for the buyer type first. Individual shows personal data only; Business activates company name, tax identifier, purchase order, and any other B2B data.

04 / REQUIRED

Required data only when needed

Define validation rules, length, or accepted formats. If the answer is missing or invalid, checkout cannot continue.

05 / ORDER DATA

Answers saved directly on the order

Save answers as order attributes, metafields, or notes so invoicing, ERP, fulfillment, and support can use them without copying data manually.

06 / DELIVERY

Shipping controlled by ZIP or postal code

Compare the destination postal code with a list and hide the shipping method that should not be available in that area.

The comparison

Why does a standard field form make checkout too long?

When the Individual or Business choice is made in a custom field, Checkout Fields Pro uses that answer to build the rest of the path.

01Checkout Blocks

Everyone sees everything

With a static form, individuals and businesses can see the same fields even when they are not relevant.

01 / LOGIC

Precise conditional logic

Show a field based on a previous answer, the shipping country, or the province.

02 / VALIDATE

Validation that blocks errors

Require data, check length and format, and prevent checkout from continuing when answers are invalid.

BLOCK_INVALID_ORDER = TRUE
03 / ERP + CRM

Data ready for ERP, CRM, and business systems

For each field, choose whether to save the answer as an order attribute, order metafield, or order note. The data is then available to workflows connected to ERP, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, invoicing, and fulfillment.

Use cases

From invoicing to delivery.

01

Individual and business invoicing

Show a tax code to individuals and company name, VAT number, SDI, or certified email to businesses.

02

Delivery and regional rules

Collect delivery dates and instructions, and restrict specific methods by postal code.

03

B2B purchase orders

Request a purchase order number, cost center, and acceptance of commercial terms.

04

Workflows for ERP, HubSpot, and Microsoft Dynamics

Store each answer as an order attribute, metafield, or note so integrations and automations already connected to Shopify can read it and pass it to downstream processes.

From module to checkout in four steps.

  1. 01

    Create the module

Add fields and assign unique technical keys to the data you want to collect.

  2. 02

Choose when each field appears, which answers are accepted, and when checkout must stop.

  3. 03

    Assign a slot

Connect the module to one of the six slots available in the app.

  4. 04

    Publish in the checkout editor

Add the matching block in the Shopify editor and enable the validation rule.

FAQ

Frequent questions, precise answers.

How can I collect a VAT number in Shopify checkout?+

Checkout Fields Pro lets you create a custom tax field, show it only in the correct path, validate it, and store it on the order. If Shopify already provides a native tax field for that country and scenario, use the native field and avoid duplicate requests.

Can I collect Tax ID, EIN, GST/HST, QST, CPF, or CNPJ?+

You can create custom fields with different labels and rules by market, country, province, and customer type. Your configuration should reflect the actual tax requirements of the country where you sell.

Does Shopify already include some tax fields?+

Yes. Shopify displays or validates certain tax fields in supported countries and scenarios. Checkout Fields Pro is for custom flows, additional data, and conditional fields without duplicating native fields.

Does Checkout Fields Pro require Shopify Plus?+

Yes. Blocks displayed in the information, shipping, and payment steps require Shopify Plus and checkout extensibility.

How is it different from Checkout Blocks?+

Checkout Blocks lets you add custom fields. Checkout Fields Pro also lets individual field visibility depend on previous answers, country, or province, creating different paths within the same checkout.

Can I show different fields to individuals and businesses?+

Yes. You can first ask for the buyer type, then show only the fields related to the Individual or Business path.

Can I show a field based on the answer to another field?+

Yes. You can use a previous answer to show or hide later fields and build conditional paths within the same checkout.

Can I show different fields by country or province?+

Yes. You can activate specific fields based on the shipping country or province, such as showing QST only when the province is Quebec.

Where is data collected in Shopify checkout stored?+

For each field, you can choose order attributes, order metafields, or the order note. Checkout Fields Pro does not store these answers in customer metafields.

Can I use checkout data with an ERP, HubSpot, or Microsoft Dynamics?+

Yes, through workflows and integrations that read Shopify order data. Checkout Fields Pro makes answers available as order attributes, metafields, or notes; it does not include a direct native connector for HubSpot or Microsoft Dynamics.

Can I block checkout when data is missing?+

Yes. Once the validation rule is enabled, the buyer cannot continue when a required field is empty or does not meet the configured rules.

Can I hide shipping based on postal code?+

Yes. You can create rules that compare the destination postal code with a list and hide the selected shipping method.

Where in checkout can I display the modules?+

You can place six independent modules across the information, shipping, and payment steps using the available blocks in the Shopify Plus checkout editor.

How many modules and field types can I create?+

You can configure six independent modules and build them with nine field and content types, combining them with conditions and validation.

Can I copy the configuration to another Shopify store?+

Yes. You can import and export modules, shipping rules, and settings to replicate the configuration across stores more quickly.

Do I need to edit my theme or write code?+

No. Configuration happens in the app, and modules are added through the Shopify checkout editor.
